![]() The Edification Station team (TES) is excited to ensure that parents in our communities feel supported during this turbulent time. At TES our mission is to build parent resilience and to promote the protective factors that keep children and families safe. Child Abuse Prevention month is upon us starting 04/01/20. Although the public health crisis has thwarted agency efforts to promote awareness around this topic, we remain committed to addressing this tough reality head on. We know that special needs children are at an increased risk for falling victim to child abuse. Other children are also at increased risk given the current financial hardships and added stressors right now. Families receiving early intervention services are being greatly impacted by decreased direct services. Activity bags with pinwheels and supporting information will be delivered to families keeping them engaged in activities that promote healthy relationships, develop skills and facilitate telehealth appointments for coaching purposes. The pinwheel can be used as a therapy tool itself and serve as a reminder to families while on quarantine to honor one another, to have fun with each other, and to remember that there is support available. Families can connect here In addition families are invited to join TES on facebook for daily inspiration, connection, and ideas to keep their children engaged and encouraged to make self care a priority, now more than ever.
